Balloon Wreath- Party Tutorial

Wreaths are a fun party decoration/accessory. They can be a great alternative to the traditional party banner (and can be given away to the guest of honor, birthday girl, mama to be, etc at the end of the party)! Enjoy this fun party tutorial that I found on Kara's Party Ideas...

 Isn't this wreath adorable?

You will need:

-1 round styofoam wreath

-Approximately 160 regular sized balloons

-160 straight pins

 Step one: Take a balloon and insert a straight pin into the base of the "bulb"...

 Step two: Insert the straight pin into the wreath, attaching the balloon...

 Step three: Repeat steps one and town until the styrofoam wreath is covered (alternating between colors if you wish)...

 And that's it! Match any party theme using coordination colors! So fun.

How-to-Create a Dessert Table- Part 1

Dessert tables are so much fun to create, so here are a few ideas and tips in designing and setting up your delicious dessert table. We'll call Part 1 "The Basics"....

1. Pick a color theme.

Pick a party or color theme and pay attention that all of your desserts and decor go along with it. One way to add drama is to limit the number of colors you use. Try to use two or three monochromatic colors.

2. Set the table.

Cover the table with fabulous cloth and add flowers and ribbons as an accent to the theme. Also, wrapping boxes in pretty wrapping paper and putting containers on top of them is another great way to create levels.

3. Add a backdrop.

Adding a backdrop gives your dessert table some depth and adds a frame. Here are some pretty awesome examples of some backdrops for some inspiration on my Pinterest boards of Dessert Tables.

4. Choose a collection of containers.

Pick bowls, jars, vases, trays, platters, canisters and footed stands in combination of shapes and sizes. Scoops and spoons make the perfect accessory to a jar full of jelly beans (my FAV...). Save On Crafts has a great selection, but shop around because you can usually find them on sale at places like HomeGoods and Pier 1.

5. Add labels.

If you're planning to add party printables to your table(which I always recommend because they aren't expensive and add so much), I recommend printing them on glossy brochure paper to make them pop, or stick to the handwritten or chalkboard signs. To label them all or not? Totally up to you, but I would at least label the ones that no one would know what they are or the ones that you've come up with a pretty cool and creative name for. Etsy has so many to choose from that go with any theme. Look how these gorgeous printables tie this whole table together.

6.  Sweet Selection.

Think about your guests first and what they might want on a dessert table. If you are having kids, I recommend nothing too fancy or messy. Some staples might be cupcakes, Rice Krispie treats, cake pops, chocolate dipped marshmallows, chocolate covered Oreo's, and don't forget the jelly beans(...lol). Paper Fan Rosette- Party Tutorial

Making a wall of wheels, or paper rosettes, is a great way to make a HUGE impact at a party without a lot of fuss or cost. They can be made in any size and variety of patterns to coordinate with your own party decor! Here's a basic tutorial on how to make this great back drop.

You will need:

- Scrapbook paper or card stock(3 pieces per fan)

- Stapler 

- Glue gun

Fold card stock paper accordion style into 1/2 inch folds. It's good to have different size papers in order to form different sized pinwheels. These sheets were 12" wide and made a 12" fan. Fold each accordion piece in half. Repeat this 3 times. 3 fans equal 1 pinwheel.

For a smaller wheel you fold 1 sheet of paper into a fan, and then cut in half. Fold those halves in half again and glue/or staple. You only need 2 sections to make a circle for this smaller wheel.

Note- You can fancy up your fans at this point by cutting the edges into a scallop, punching some holes, or lots of other things to add some variety to your display.

Now secure sides together using a glue gun for extra hold, or you can also staple them together if you don't have a glue gun handy. This creates a part of the pinwheel. Glue all there pieces together (edges out) on sides to make one large piece.

Stretch out your fan and glue (or staple) the two ends together. You are finished, how easy was that!

Love the variety of fan sizes and patterns!

You can hang the wheels by poking them through with nails. Or if you can't put nails in your wall, I've seen it done by using hot glue to attach them to a large poster board or foam core board.
